The title says it all. The night I proposed to Angela which happened on a whim (I actually wanted to propose to Angela the following day on our trip to Patong)but the timing was just right. Warm night, raining outside and watching a romantic movie...it was perfect.
The funny thing is I had no pants on when I proposed - lol watch the vid...We also included a vid of the engagement ring after it was resized.

One of our day adventures on our scooters to the Big Buddha. Which is currently under renovation.... we got to sign our own tiles that will be placed on the base of the Buddha. We also purchased new Buddha’s to wear for love, health and success :) And then you will see Funk turn into a GONG SHOW !!!

See us driving down the mountain on our awesome scooters. Day trip with our friend Thibo from London. Funk drives down the mountain while filming! Stop halfway down the mountain to eat and get a BUG lesson... gross! Then run into a group of elephants grazing.... awesome

CHAPTER #3 BEGINS - OUR ARRIVAL IN PHUKET
This leg of our trip begins in Phuket, Thailand. We arrive at Tiger Muay Thai where we do all of our training while in Thailand. This was Angela's first trip and Funk's second. We also make our way to the Bangla Boxing Stadium to waych some Tiger Muay Thia guests fight.

CHAPTER #2 - DAY IN BANGKOK, FIGHTS AT SIAM ONMOI STADIUM AND GOOD FOOD
Today is the day we go to see Ajahn Pinsinchai big fighter "Tipsootin" (you saw him in Chapter 1) fight for the Stadium Championship at one of Thailand's top Muay Thai Stadiums.

So we finally arrive at Om Noi Stadium after a 2 hour cab ride. This place is electric, televised every Saturday. Amazing Muay Thai. We went to watch Ajahn Burkerks champion fight - Tipsootin. Ring Side ! A very up close and personal look at the betting that takes place at these events.

It was Family Day so they had a huge festival going on. We then paid a visit to Lumpinee Stadium (Thailand #1 Muay Thai Stadium) but all just for shopping that day.

FIGHT NIGHT OVERVIEW
The fight took place in Chiang Mai, Thailand at a place call Thaephae stadium, which is a bar/stadium where farangs (foreigners) and locals come to watch and bet on Muay Thai fights. We were the feature fights on the card and there were posters all over Chiang Mai promoting the fight.
We fought for Ajahn Burklerk who was our promoter and trainer. This was a big night for Ajahn, as he had two of his fighters in the main event.
We had no idea we were the Main Fights and did not know what time were going to be fighting. We literally showed up, changed and fought. The atmosphere was crazy but very exciting at the same time.
ANGELA FIGHT NIGHT
This Angela fourth pro fight (her first 3 were in Thailand) and she did not disappoint. Angela is known for her TEEPS (Front kicks) and powerful leg kicks which she quickly put to work in this fight. Angela second round KO was great, but checkout all the other aspects that went into her fight night experience.

WAI KHRU RAM MUAY Wai khru ram muay is an action of respect in Thai culture that is performed by participants in Muay Thai competitions. Wai is an action of Thais to show respect to others by putting the hands together like in prayer. Khru means teacher. Ram means dance in the old Thai traditional style. Muay means boxing. Usually Thais prefer to call it short ram muay or wai khru. Ram muay is the way to show respect to the teachers and the trainers. Also, in past muay thai was usually fought in front of the king, so ram muay was also to apologize to the King for the brutality in fighting

WAI KHRU RAM MUAY Wai khru ram muay is an action of respect in Thai culture that is performed by participants in Muay Thai competitions. Wai is an action of Thais to show respect to others by putting the hands together like in prayer. Khru means teacher. Ram means dance in the old Thai traditional style. Muay means boxing. Usually Thais prefer to call it short ram muay or wai khru. Ram muay is the way to show respect to the teachers and the trainers. Also, in past muay thai was usually fought in front of the king, so ram muay was also to apologize to the King for the brutality in fighting

CHAPTER 1 - FIGHT NIGHT IN CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - THAEPAHE STADIUM - FUNK
FIGHT NIGHT OVERVIEW
The fight took place in Chiang Mai, Thailand at a place call Thaephae stadium, which is a bar/stadium where farangs (foreigners) and locals come to watch and bet on Muay Thai fights. We were the feature fights on the card and there were posters all over Chiang Mai promoting the fight.
We fought for Ajahn Burklerk who was our promoter and trainer. This was a big night for Ajahn, as he had two of his fighters in the main event.
We had no idea we were the Main Fights (see picture) and did not know what time were going to be fighting. We literally showed up, changed and fought. The atmosphere was crazy but very exciting at the same time.
FIGHT NIGHT – FUNK
This was my first professional Muay Thai Fight and in Thailand to boot. I trained 6 months for this moment and it was worth every second of it, especially being able to share it with the love of my life. I had no prior fights, nor any real steady training. I used to play professional beach volleyball, so Muay Thai was just a dream. All my hard work and sacrifices finally paid off. This was one of the nest experiences in my entire life. (and I have a lot)

Round was a great. Lot of action for round that traditional is supposed to be extremely slow. Don’t let the size of the fighter fool you. He was very powerful and had an enormous head.

This is the big knock-out round. When I say big I mean KOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
POST FIGHT PAPARRAZI
After the fight we were literally mobbed for about an hour, taking pictures, signing autographs and meeting people from all over the world. We felt like stars.

It’s fight day (Angela and I are fighting a pro Muay Thai fight) and after a light training session in the morning we have the day to relax. Our fight will be in Chiang Mai (currently we are in Lampang) which is an hour drive from where we are. The plan is to leave Lampang at about 7:00pm. That being said, we have the day to relax and get focused for our fight.

CHAPTER #1 - DAY 2 - TRAINING DAY PART 1 OF 2
Today is a full on training day...no holds barred. Our fights are in a day, so we have to milk this for what it is worth - 5km run, padwork, bagwork, clinching and light sparring...

As soon as we arrived we had to get to the gym for a 5km run (in the intense heat) I was dead last barely making it, Angela was right behind Tipsootin...We met an MMA team from Germany (Team Jupps) who was there training as well.
Our session consisted of padwork, bagwork and clinching as you will see below.
This is me attempting to clinch with Tipsootin, who is a stadium champion in Thailand, not gonna lie to you, it was intimedating but awesome.
Amy is Ajahn's daughter who entertained us with her masterful hula hoop display...you have to watch this.

FLIGHTS, FIGHTS, SITES AND BITES - ADVENTURES IN THAILAND - INTRODUCTION
Wow wee!!! We are finally here and ready to share our Amazing story with you.
Within 1 month of meeting each other we planned s trip to Thailand together. I think secretly we both thought it probably would never happen...... shhhhh. “Don't tell Funk I said that”
BUT...
We planned, saved, trained hard and persevered for the trip of a lifetime. Every possible wish, desire and expectation was met and or exceeded and we recorded it all to share with you :). Well Funk did and I tagged along and tried to not throw his camera in the Bangkok River.
We named this adventure Flights, Fights, Bites and Sites.
During our trip to Thailand we were on 10 different planes (flights), we both fought pro Muay Thai (fights), we ate EVERYTHING we got our hands on (bites) and drove our scooters everywhere, up mountains and in crazy Phuket traffic..... sites :)

We broke our trip into 5 chapters which represent the different cities of Thailand that we visited and the adventures we endured together.
Most of our trip was planned to the minute, and then it all went out the window!!!!
A lot of surprises came our way including losing both our bank cards, a 12" centipede, Marc eating disgusting bugs and getting a flat tire on a mountain top !!
A true test of our relationship.... Most of the videos are frigging hilarious.... The rest are just awesome. Enjoy the videos, share them and laugh with us or at us... whichever. :)
And we wrote a couple songs along the way... Want to hear it... Here it goes!
